You can go WikiLook option dialog by clicking on a green button
located in a top left corner of WikiLook pop-up, and
change parsers from default WikiMedia/Wikia English editions to
URLs that point into your preferred language. For example, you can
point to French language Wikis by changing parsers to:
For Spanish that would be:
etc.
WikiLook
could parse virtually any WikiCode based web site, as long as web site
serve WikiCode through default bot interface. And there is dozens of
thousands such web sites in the Internet!
It
is disabled by default in latest versions of WikiLook. The option is
there, you just need to enable it on fresh installation of
Firefox/SeaMonkey/Flock. It was disabled because it somewhat aggressive
(by design) in showing up pop-ups. But it still extremely convenient
way to look up words/idioms, and we encourage new users to give it a
try. And this way you can look up words just using your mouse, without
need to use a keyboard. After MouseLook was enabled:
- Highlight any idiom(sic!) or word with your mouse.
- Move mouse pointer just a bit, still holding it over selected word.
- Wait half a second.
or
- Press and hold Shift key
- Move mouse pointer just a bit, still holding it over selected word.
- Wait half a second.
The other way, moving mouse first and then pressing Shift will not
work, to make sure add-on won't interfere, when user decided to type
some text.
You
probably running Firefox/SeaMonkey on a *nix system (Linux, BSD, etc.).
Unfortunately, some Window Managers reserve that combination for
predefined actions. You can change your Window Manager settings or use
other built in methods of WikiLook pop-up call.
Please
use standard built it functionality of your browser, that is while you
clicking on a link, hold Ctrl key. This way you can always control
where the page is open. And this way would work on another pages/in
different add-ons.
